In High School participated in team sports Baseball, Football, and Hockey. In College, studied Chemistry and Biology and was a member of the UMD Hockey team in the early 70s. Father of two children, Rachel and Michael, who reside in Minneapolis/St.Paul. Practiced Dentistry in Duluth for approximately 30 years. Volunteered for the March of Dimes and also the Make A Wish Foundation throughout the years. I am the Founder/Volunteer President of the Northern Lights Foundation since 2007. This children's charity raises money for families with children facing life-threatening illnesses. Since its inception, the charity has raised well over 500,000 and given out over 200 grants to families in the Northland. Volunteering and giving back to the community is an important part of who I am. Our family was affected by the loss of a child, so this has become a personal mission of mine to help families who are going through a difficult time in their lives.
