As a faculty member of the Rutgers Health Department of Rehabilitation and Movement Sciences, I serve to coordinate experiential learning and evidence-based practice opportunities in our programs. My previous experience includes Program Director of Kessler Institute's AOTA Fellowship Program in Physical Rehabilitation and clinical lead of Kessler/ Select Medical's Inpatient Cancer Rehabilitation Program. I have over twelve years of inpatient rehabilitation experience with a focus on management of individuals with complex medical conditions. I have been a board certified clinician in physical rehabilitation (BCPR) through AOTA since 2016 and have been actively involved in development and growth of the AOTA BCPR exam as well as a member of the Roster of Fellowship Reviewers (RFR). My recent research includes best practices in communication to support confidence and patient- centered care in cancer rehabilitation as well as identifying factors relating to acute care transfer and mortality for individuals with cancer admitted to inpatient rehabilitation. I am a PhD student at Seton Hall University with a concentration in Health Professions Leadership. I've presented nationally on various topics over the last decade, particularly in the field of spinal cord injury rehabilitation and inpatient cancer rehabilitation with a specific focus on occupation-based goal setting and effective patient-centered communication.
