Kayla Halley is a While balancing school and a social life, I am also working as a hearing screener for the newborn infants through Envision Health at the Banner Thunderbird Hospital. Through this job, I have learned an incredible amount about patients, myself, team work, communication, and being a leader. In the hospital setting, there are patients from around the world; most speak English, but many do not. This has broadened my understanding of communication and different cultures. I am also a part of a large bible study group where I have the privilege of leading discussions and exploring my faith. In addition to this, I regularly attend the GCU Gathering (a worship style night service) and am part of the GCU HAVOCS (the biggest party in college basketball). After spending so much time in the hospital as a student nurse and as a hearing screener, I am prepared to begin a career in the nursing field and explore the many individual disciplines. Long term, I would like to secure a position in the emergency department because of its fast-pace and interesting cases. These are all great, but I want nothing more in life then to have a family that loves me, and to love and take care of those in need.
