During my time in practice I gained experience in a variety of financial services for both public and private entities in a variety of industries. Services provided includes statutory audits, group reporting engagements and non- audit services including the preparation of sole trader accounts and FRS 102 transition services in recent years. I developed a number of skills during my academic and professional journey to date. I have demonstrated experience in managing teams, being a strong communicator, holding a passion for coaching and developing individuals while endeavouring to promote quality work when meeting deadlines. I am an extremely organised individual who pays significant attention to detail. I am currently completing a PhD in Corporate Governance entitled “Why Serve? Motivations of Non-Executive Directors on Boards of Not-for-Profit Organisations.” The main aspiration of this research is to contribute to the understanding of the profession, together with making a practical contribution to the understanding of governance and the motives of non-executive directors on boards. This research is being performed from Waterford Institute of Technology under the supervision of Dr. Collette Kirwan, Dr. Richard Burke and Dr. Ray Griffin. My primary achievements to date are outlined below: -> Successfully recipient of a WIT PhD scholarship in 2018. -> Graduate Business Scholarship programme sponsored by the AIB Centre of Finance and Business Research in 2013 -> Certificate of academic excellence for the academic year 2010/2011 from Waterford Institute of Technology
