Katie LovettWhite Email & Phone Number | I started my career in Student Accommodation as a fresh faced Graduate Intern at York St John University, after achieving a first class degree in Theology and Religious Studies. As Graduate Intern I soon got to grips with the demands of student accommodation, providing administrative support to the team. 7 months into my 12 month internship I was proudly promoted to Data and Systems Coordinator, after demonstrating my proficiency with our information management system and keen interest in developing our core operating procedures. In December 2019, I was thrilled to be appointed Student Accommodation Manager just before we were plunged into the pandemic. It was a challenging time to take on a leadership role, managing a team getting to grips with working from home for the first time whilst adapting to our ‘new normal’ and the obstacles that came with it. During my 2 years as Student Accommodation Manager I took a prominent role in assisting students through complex circumstances and developed a reputation for my ability to support vulnerable students. I took a lead in developing the departmental disciplinary procedures, expanding the way in which we allocated student accommodation and supporting with the implementation of strategic goals. After 6 years in Student Accommodation I wanted to expand my Higher Education experience and in 2022 I moved into a position leading a team of Student Journey Advisors at the University of Law. This was an exciting opportunity to join a new team implementing new processes and contributing to improving the student experience. As of October 2023, I am excited to be returning to the world of Student Accommodation as part of the Student First Group. I am looking forward to being able to use my knowledge and experience of Student Accommodation again, as part of a company at the forefront of the sector.
