I started my career working with critically ill children over 35 years ago, and enjoyed the challenges and lessons learned about perseverance and hope from my young patients. Working for hospice for eight years gave me a unique introspective into what really matters. I loved my patients, and co-workers, and feel blessed to have met each and every one of them. My favorite "selfish" job was traveling with Abbott Diabetes Care, as a contractor with Experis. I loved the travel, teaching, meeting new people, learning new skills, and sense of independence I felt. Through the years I worked on and off caring for elderly patients, and elderly family members, as the need arose. Now, as I grow older, I feel an affinity to caring for the elderly. I do not know where the future will lead me, but I know I will greet it with enthusiasm and strength.
