Kathy Saisho Email & Phone Number | It seems some of our youth begin high school eager to start the journey that will lead them to the college or career of their choice while others arrive barely equipped to tackle high school due to a history of poor attendance, poor academic performance, behavior problems, or other barriers. Throughout my ten years at Chippewa Valley Schools I have assisted over 250 students such as the latter. My goal has been to provide resources that lead them to academic and personal success. The mission of the programs I administered is to empower youth by guiding them through workshops, peer tutoring, and one-on-one coaching. The benefits I have witnessed include more student focus on academic and personal achievements, improvement in responsibility and accountability along with personal growth and increased confidence and self-esteem. The relationships I've formed while coaching ensure students that someone has an interest in them, cares about their progress, and is willing to devote time and effort to ensure they succeed. I believe these skills, experiences, and attributes are important for all our youth to possess. My education and experience have equipped me to develop technical and academic workshops utilizing a variety of resources. I am also prepared to conduct training for adults, to mentor college interns, and to influence at-risk youth to graduate on time. Of these career roles I'm most proud of, and most passionate about working with youth, guiding and empowering them to increase their skills, knowledge, and confidence.
