By the time we are teens, young adults, or more experienced adults, we can find ourselves stuck in certain thought or behavior patterns that are starting to be problematic. It’s hard to notice the pattern and even harder to learn to break it and try something new. I take incredible joy in working with people to shed light on what’s keeping them stuck and then moving towards more freedom and flexibility in life. I have experience working with children and adults alike with various diagnoses ranging from personality disorders to suicidal ideation however, my ideal population to work with are teenagers with mood disorders. I have experience working with individuals with Acceptance Commitment Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Narrative Therapy, and Crisis Intervention. I work primary with young adults; a population who tends to feel unheard and unseen to begin with. Young individuals face both peer and academic pressures, shifts in the family, like divorce or relocation, and the ever-present challenge of managing their emotions. I cultivate a style that is relational by using empathy, respect and humor to build strong working alliances and help my patients achieve their goals. I provide a comforting and reassuring attitude to these individuals by letting them know that there are people out there that truly care about them and their well-being, including myself.
