Karen Waneska is a I am a dynamic and enthusiastic specialist in housing, urban development, participatory design, and community-led regeneration. With 10 years of working experience in planning, regeneration, affordable housing, community involvement, co-design practices and socio-spatial research. Covering the public, private and nongovernmental sectors in the UK, Brazil, and Germany. I hold a double degree in architecture and urban planning, and an MSc. in Building and Urban Design in Development at the UCL. My masters focused on co-production and co-design through strategic action planning, community-led development practices, and action- orientated research. Including practical community involvement plans through a variety of techniques that go beyond consultation to include residents through co-design, to deliver adequate social housing and infrastructure solutions to tackle urban inequality. Encompassing the production of complex assessments for diverse stakeholders. My interest is in delivering alternative and innovative regeneration with people at the centre. Driven by a multidisciplinary approach that embraces social and local economic growth, whilst building community trust to ensure that the residents are safe and proud of their neighbourhood. My practice is committed to bringing diversity and recognition of people's stories and local knowledge to include and support underrepresented stakeholders in the decision-making process, to achieve inclusive, sustainable and just cities.
