In addition, my graduate program concentration was in quantitative methodology, and I continue to use complex statistical methodology in my research. I completed my PhD at Virginia Commonwealth University in August of 2009. During my graduate studies, I worked as a researcher in eating disorders and behavior genetics, as well as smoking cessation. I completed a Pre-doctoral Fellowship in Psychiatric and Statistical Genetics at the Virginia Institute for Psychiatric and Behavioral Genetics. I completed my internship in clinical psychology, with a focus on health psychology, at the Cleveland Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center in 2009. I have had a variety of clinical experiences with diverse patient populations, including university students, community members, forensic patients, and veterans. As a licensed psychologist, I specialize in eating disorders, PTSD, and health psychology, including obesity and metabolic disorders. Currently, I am working as a Clinical Research Psychologist in the Women's Health Sciences Division of the National Center for PTSD at the VA Boston Healthcare System and an Associate Professor of Psychiatry at Boston University School of Medicine. My position is 80% research, 20% clinical. I am continuing my research in eating disorders with a focus on PTSD, gender, health disparities, and veterans. I completed an NIMH K01 (2012-2016) to further my training and investigate gene-environment interplay in the comorbidity of PTSD and disordered eating. Methodologies include twin modeling, network analysis, and longitudinal models of epigenetic patterns. My current investigations of eating disorders, comorbidity, risk and resilience, and psychometrics of eating disorder measures are funded by the Department of Veterans Affairs and the Department of Defense.
