I have accumulated a total of 665 clinical hours during my time in the nursing program working in acute patient care settings alongside skilled nurses. These settings include the ER, OR, Med-Surg, Oncology, Orthopedics, women’s health, and more. Of these 665 hours, I have spent 160 hours completing a Nursery/NICU preceptorship at South Georgia Medical Center. Along with mandatory school clinicals, I have also gained more experience in the hospital by working as a full-time/ now PRN nurse extern in the resource pool at Tift Regional Medical Center. Through my clinical and work experiences, I have had gained close to 3 years of experience working in the hospital setting. These experiences have sharpened my critical thinking and interpersonal communication skills. I have learned how to work as part of the healthcare team to better patient outcomes. I am familiar with medical procedures and equipment, charting in electronic medical records, and possess many hands-on skills such as phlebotomy, IV insertion, foley insertion, NG tube insertion, excellent direct patient care, and more. I am excited to start my career as a nurse in a great facility!
