Kanishka Kobbekaduwa Email & Phone Number | My aim is to keep myself updated with latest reasearch in the world of optical and solid state physics and my goal is to gain expertise in different metrology and characterization techniques that will yield greater understanding of the inner workings of novel materials and the corresponding physics, leading to more efficient applications. This research area grants me opportunities to learn new things on a daily basis. Experienced in synthesis and fabrication of semiconductor nanomaterials and devices through wet chemistry (Schlenk line, Glovebox), thin film deposition and coating, Photolithography and Physical Vapor Deposition (PVD). Material characterization using spectroscopy (Photoluminescence, Ultrafast Photocurrent, UV-VIS, Raman), microscopy (SEM, TEM) and other (XRD) techniques. Data analysis using MATLAB, LabView, OriginLab to clarify charge carrier transport within in-situ devices including defect and phonon scattering. Materials include Organic/Inorganic Lead Halide Perovskites, quantum dots, 2D materials. Publications in Nature Communications, Matter, Journal of the American Chemical Society (JACS), ACS Nano etc. My passion for learning new things led me to an internship on developing anode materials for Li ion batteries. This gave me valuable experience in industry level battery development (slurry making, coating, sheet calandering, coin/pouch cell manufacturing and testing) I want to contribute and serve both the wider research community and my current organization.
