I learned to value hard work and contribution starting with my father’s small business, by helping with trade shows and painting offices on the weekends. My journey continued in High School, working in kitchens and attending Parkway West Vo-Tech for Culinary Arts. I often look back at this early experience as a lesson in the basics of planning, budgeting, organization, preparation, communication, and teamwork. I realized the commercial kitchen was not where I wanted to be and decided to venture out to other opportunities. Although I went looking for adventure with a career in military and law enforcement, I found a passion for service. This passion for service led me to pursue my dream of owning my own business. In running my own fitness business I found my passion for helping people reach their goals. I was fortunate to find The Mission Continues by serving with fellow veterans as a community leader and volunteer. I now work for the Department of Veterans Affairs, coordinating and managing a wide range of business operations of the Pittsburgh Regional Office. I look to continue this commitment to service as a constant learner, finding most of my knowledge comes from building good relationships across all levels of an organization. These relationships have taught me to listen and understand in order to relate to people finding unique solutions to common problems. I enjoy spending time with my family, playing outside, and traveling to adventurous locations. I continue to pursue my passion for fitness and regularly compete in local cycling races.
