Judy Martinez Email & Phone Number | I thought I would become a judge. In fact, I started on my career quest to become a judge as a criminal prosecutor. I spent time with victims understanding the facts of their case. I prepared carefully for trials breaking down the evidence and explaining it to juries so they could easily apply it to the laws. Then my life took me on a beautiful, winding career journey I did not expect. I went on to work in local government for the City of Chicago, a not-for-profit supporting children with autism, and a global infrastructure and technology company gaining experience in law, public policy, business development, and operations. In reflecting on my 25+ year career, even though I did not become a judge, I learned my most important skills when I worked as a trial attorney. Listening and understanding the needs of others (whether they are juries, elected officials, children, customers, etc.) is key to positive, long-term, fulfilling relationships. In business, you can display all your shiny products to a customer, but if you don’t understand who or what their challenges are, you won’t make a meaningful connection (or sell a thing!). Today, it’s my passion to “build a bridge” between State & Local Governments and Corporations. I have spent equal time as a government customer and selling to government customers. I uniquely understand the nuances of selling to government and quickly see the gaps in corporate go-to-market strategies for government customers. I thrive when I can help both sides make a win-win connection. More importantly, I believe good public private partnerships have the power to transform the world, one community at a time!! Every day my personal and professional mission is to be better than I was the day before. My values are Integrity, Adaptability, Adventure and Generosity. I’m a first generation Mexican-American and Human Design Manifester. I have laser vision on a customer’s needs and am best at initiating a vision and coaching a team to execute on the vision. For balance, I focus on fitness, eating healthy, and giving back to my community. CrossFit, yoga, hiking, walking, fishing and being in nature are my favorite activities. I feel “full” when I volunteer for Admister Justice giving free legal advice to those that can’t afford it and when I participate on the Academy for Global Citizenship Board mentoring students and our future leaders. Best of all, my legacy is pouring love into the lives of my 3 amazing children! Let's connect!
