My primary career has been as an acoustics design expert and venue planner, leading large teams of SMEs to deliver significant projects across performing arts, entertainment and sport. My projects include new state-of-the-art venues for SF Opera and the Greek National Opera, SFMOMA and AMPAS; a 2700 seat world class acoustics hall in Minneapolis; state-of-the-art screening, production and live venues for Netflix, Apple, Google, Salesforce; and sports venue consulting for the Golden State Warriors, FC Cincinnati, Oakland A's and more. Uniquely, I have spent over a decade working on designing multi-sensory environments for the Blind and low-vision. This was the focus of my honorary lecture appointment at UC Berkeley in 2022. I've increasingly taken roles as Project Director and Program Strategist for my clients, working to set up the right problems to solve, and leveraging the wide breadth of skills we have at Arup as well as my professional network to activate my client's vision for the future. I have enabled innovation projects across workplace design, asset decarbonization, operational and logistic master planning, site development enablement, R&D / pilots, smart building enablement, inclusive design, and climate action planning among others. The depth of commission can vary from a single study to the global roll-out of new standards, coordinated among of dozens of offices globally and hundreds of staff. The outcomes I strive to achieve elevates the human experience while clearly exceeding industry standards. I look to develop the best platform for use in future scenarios rather than the one that just looks good or has been done before.
