BYOA is a small, rapidly growing team, focused on facilitating clients to create customer advertising segments. Within the first year of inception, BYOA has scaled to over 10K custom audiences created, with trajectories for the next 12 months to reach 100K+. Handling data at scale introduces tremendous challenges, and with the Amazon Leadership Principle of frugality in mind, solutions must be implement efficiently and with minimal cost. I was the primary on-call for the team, and have since onboarded two other team members into sharing the responsibilities with me. BYOA is a native AWS system, and so I am comfortable with building and developing through both the Amazon provided Typescript CDK and through the AWS console. I graduated from Warwick University with a 1st Class Master’s Degree in Computer Science and an award for Best Computer Science MEng Project Prize for 2022. The project, for which I was scrum master, created a visualisation tool for the inner workings of a CPU. The core visualiser, wrapped within a level structure to gamify learning, facilitated students to write assembly code and step through at an instruction / microinstruction level to see the flow of data between components. While at university I pursued two entrepreneurial roles. I created Warwick Date, an exclusive match-making service for Warwick University students. I created a web-based application hosted on AWS using the Django Framework to link a Python backend. I integrated real-time messaging using a Redis Server, and implemented compatibility algorithms to pair students. Additionally, in my third year of university I became a lead web developer at Captio Tech – a museum start-up based in Coventry hoping to integrate museums with cutting edge technology. I created their web-based platform, working directly with the co-founders and managing a number of later additions to the start-up. We strived to design, implement, and launch in time for the Coventry City of Culture in May 2021. However the company failed to secure sufficient funding from Coventry and dissolved a year later.
