  Joseph Caponi is a Myology and Kinesology I and II, Anatomy and Phisiology. Massage therapy is really about the recipient. Everyone carries their own burdens from day to day, and everyone accumulates their own musculo-skeletal pathologies, and I believe that no two clients should be treated in the same way. Whether it be piriformis syndrome causing sciatic pain, temporomandibular joint disorders caused by muscle strain or something I've never dealt with and need to learn about, everyone deserves to receive what their body needs out of their time with me. I strive to have every client walk away in better shape than when they walked in, and with a greater knowledge of how they can stay feeling great.I work one on one with students in the equal opportunities program at SUNY Cortland to help them achieve their academic goals however I can. From molarity to le chatelier's principle to beyond, I make their goals my goals.My responsibility is to help students understand concepts they were presented in class in a study-group like environment. My job is not to teach, it's equal parts helping students learn the material they need to learn, and showing them proper study techniques and methods for success in all their classes. I attend every class session in order to identify key areas students may have issues with, and I make plans and study activities in order to help convey these topics to students who may not have understood them immediately.Assisting the cellular physiology lab at SUNY Cortland in several projects, including studying the protective effects of stem cells on oxidatively stressed neurons, cell based biosensor research and viability studies of preserving cells in 3d matrices. Worked as technology support, setting up a brand new electronic laboratory notebook system for the purposes of recording results and procedures in an efficient manner.Major: Biomedical Sciences Minor: Chemistry. Prepared and ran NMR samples in order to identify information about organic molecules. Compiled information into digestible graphs and spreadsheets in order to convey trends.I believe that there should be no such thing as a 'generic' massage, and in fact, I feel as if doing so is a disservice to one's client. Massage can be very beneficial to patients, but only if the patient is treated as a person with actual treatment goals. This is what I strived to provide to my clients while working at InnerLight.
