In 2017 I have obtained a PhD degree in Environmental Sciences at the Radboud University Nijmegen with a thesis about modelling the environmental fate and exposure of nanomaterials. In the year 2016 I started at the Dutch National Institute for Public Health and the Environment (RIVM) in the development, maintenance, course instruction and fact sheet reports of the consumer exposure model called ConsExpo and the environmental exposure model called SimpleBox. Both models are developed within the RIVM and embedded in REACH. My expertise lays in the collection and interpretation of data as well as the conversion of physical and chemical knowledge into emission and exposure model routines. This type of work has proven to be useful in life cycle assessments, socio-economic analyses, environmental and health impact assessments and environmental policy support. I am passionate about my work, because it provides the opportunities to keep up with the state-of-the-art knowledge within the field of environmental sciences as well as the possibility to create new methods that impact policies on what matters the most: our planet and our health. Highlights in my career are winning the Society of Environmental Toxicology and Chemistry (SETAC) best paper of the year award 2016, acknowledged scientific proposals and of course getting tow work with inspiring, expert and friendly colleagues.
