I've just completed my first year of Masters: Media working towards translating my comedic skills and previous producing experience into creating online content. I'm a graduate from The VCA with a BFA in Music Theatre (2014), where I was able to gain performance skills from some of the best actors and musical theatre directors in the country. It was an incredible experience and I left feeling confident to be able to filter my performance abilities into different avenues. I decided to pave my own way through the entertainment industry by creating 'The Dizzy Biz' - a production company where I can develop my own work and tour to various festivals around Australia. Through 'The Dizzy Biz' I've produced four original works for the Melbourne International Comedy Festival, the Adelaide Fringe Festival, and the Melbourne Fringe Festival. I've spent the last few years focusing on creating satirical and slightly absurd comedy. 2018 was a particularly exciting year for me as I was a RAW Comedy State finalist for Victoria and was selected to be a part of Triple J's Good Az Friday at Melbourne Town Hall. My latest show was nominated for Best Comedy at the 2018 Melbourne Fringe and was selected to be a part of Trades Hall Comedy for the 2019 Melbourne International Comedy Festival. In 2017 my piece 'The Ambassador' was shortlisted for Screen Australia's Smart For A Girl: ROAR initiative. Last year I was honoured to be shortlisted for The Rebel Wilson Comedy Commission. My application involved adapting a show I've been working on for the last couple years and pitch it as a play. It was a super challenging but rewarding experience, and even though I didn't receive the scholarship, knowing that Rebel Wilson read my work still gives me shivers! I believe my creativity allows me to have innovative problem-solving skills and independent initiative, whilst still flourishing in a collaborative environment.
