Jonathan York Email & Phone Number | I have been working in the video game industry for over 18 years in an administration capacity in the Facilities Department for Sony Interactive Entertainment America. My tasks and duties have ranged to include a smattering of everything due to being in a support role for both large and small on site development teams. Some of these tasks include invoice billing and filing, handling guest and team relations, placing various office orders with third party vendors, maintaining an inventory system for a large studio, handling expense reports and billing, helping plan large scale parties and events, taking care of scheduling and shipping needs of a large studio, game testing, play testing and even helping with some small game design input from time to time. Thanks to the large variety of duties and tasks I have had to perform for all the teams I have worked with over the years, I have had a chance to meet and interact with a large group of people who range from game testers to studio directors to department managers. These interactions have taught me many different and complex mechanics about the way the game industry works as well as how games are designed and made. I have learned a lot in my many years in the industry and still have the same passion and drive to further my knowledge of the industry now as I did when I first started many years ago. As of December 2022, I will no longer be with Sony and will be looking for a new career oppurtunity. I am hoping to find something still in the Facilities/OPS/Workplace field, but open to other possibilities as well as moving outside of the California area as well. My current career goal is to one day become a Office Manager or Senior Workplace Manager in the entertainment industry for either a game development team or entertainment company. I believe these types of jobs need to have three very important skills which would be excellent communication, the ability to use time wisely and know how to schedule accordingly, and must be good at multitasking and balancing all job duties and tasks. These are three skills I have honed over the years being in the Facilities/Administrative side of the industry and know I could offer and help any development team or production team I work with.
