I specialized in the high pressure systems – those being some of the most technical systems on board. I did my apprenticeship on the construction of submarines in South Australia and after working several years in my trade I advanced to lead mechanical systems expert at the Garden Island Naval Base and Henderson Ship Yard in Western Australia. My duties varied from being involved in complex defect rectification and sea trials, to mentoring and training staff, devising ways to improve workplace systems and procedures and the meeting of targets. I am confident and accountable for my work and my advice. I lead by example and feel I am someone the workforce and company can rely on. In the past 7 years, I have completed several courses which led me into the oil and gas sector. Within this short amount of time as a Mechanical Technician/ Fitter, I was given the opportunity to take the role of team supervisor on multiple campaigns, which I am currently doing at a range of on and off shore facilities In Australia. I have a naturally strong motivation towards safety and strive to obtain a position on the safety committee at each site. I have successfully been involved with the emergency response team and have responded to several workplace and medical emergencies, these experiences enforced my continual commitment to promote a high safety culture in the workplace and feel confident in my ability to identify those conditions onsite that could lead to an emergency, to respond according to the situation and believe my work experiences have provided me with invaluable knowledge and understanding of problem solving.I have a good work ethic and I am willing to work various shifts and rosters. I am flexible to travel or relocate to any place in the world. I am committed to the undertaking of training or courses that would be of benefit to my employment.
