His current projects include a world-class art museum overlooking Newport’s historic Cliff Walk and an antique auto museum on famed Bellevue Avenue. The Governor of Rhode Island appointed Mr. Grosvenor as a director of the Architectural Registration Board for Rhode Island and he presently serves on the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards Committee for the development of the Architectural Registration Exam. He was recently elected Vice Chair to the New England Council of Architectural Registration Boards. He also served as President of AIA/RI, Chairman of Preserve RI, and Commissioner of the Rhode Island Historic Preservation and Heritage Commission for 28 years. Mr. Grosvenor is a sought after speaker at conferences on both historic tax credits and preservation issues and has presented at many conferences including the Green Institutes Conference in Portugal. Mr. Grosvenor is also a celebrated artist. His watercolors have been published in American Artist magazine. Appointed in 2014 John is presently VP of the Newport Art Museum. He also co-founded World Heritage Watercolor, which allows 20 artists to participate in plein air painting sessions at World Heritage Sites.
