I currently serve as the Director of Policy Development and Research at the Ministry of Mines and Mineral Resources in Sierra Leone. As the head of the technical department, I provide technical and strategic advice to the Minister of Mines and Mineral Resources on emerging policy issues and representing the Ministry in the negotiations of all mining activities between investors (local and foreign) and the Government of Sierra Leone. I supervise three units within the Mines Ministry: the Mineral Investment Promotion Unit, Mineral Policy Unit, and the Mineral Contracting and Licensing Unit. In addition, I ensure the effective implementation of the mines and mineral policies formulated by the Mines Ministry. I am also in charge of facilitating research and liaising with academic institutions and other professional bodies to improve governance and manage the mining and mineral sectors. I received my professional training in Africa, Europe, and America. I started my professional career in Oslo, Norway, in 2010, working as a research engineer at the University of Oslo. I went on to work as an ICT Researcher at DevoTeam in Grimstad, Norway. In 2013, I relocated to the United States, where I first worked as a senior communications engineer at the Veteran Affairs Hospital in Loma Linda, California. I briefly served in the US Navy Reserves as an aviation mechanic while working at Comcast Cable, as an Xfinity Product Expert. In 2019, I proceeded to work at Nova Computing Solutions in Virginia as Senior Network Engineer, focusing primarily on computer networking and systems development projects for the US government organizations, banks, dental clinics, hospitals, etc. I am a proud executive member of the American Society for Engineering Management (ASEM)USA, American Association of Engineering Societies (AAES) USA, Society for Mining, Metallurgy & Exploration -(SME) USA, Association for Computing Machinery (ACM) USA, Norwegian Petroleum Society (NPS), Norway and National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE), USA.
