I have run a small dynamic company in the west of Ireland and led two of Ireland's most established educational theatre companies. In addition, I managed the recruitment of artistic, technical and production personnel, negotiating terms and conditions, and ensuring all contracts adhered to Irish and EU and US employment law. As an organisational leader, I have been adept at raising considerable revenues from Government, Foundations and individuals who have come to believe in the mission of the organisations I have worked with. I have excellent soft skills and I have been adept at influencing and guiding partner organisations to achieve mutually beneficial goals. I am an experienced communicator with good media skills, I have written articles for major Irish newspapers and have appeared regularly on radio and television in Ireland and internationally. As a producer for twenty years, I have led a diverse range of high-performing, committed and creative teams. I have at all times respected and nurtured the people I worked with and I believe that a healthy happy workplace is a creative and productive one. I provide leadership by developing, with the board, a strategic vision for the organizations with whom I work and then harnessing the team’s creative industry to accomplish this vision. I do this through my own ideas and hard work, nurturing the creativity of those around me and bringing people on board to share and accomplish the organisation’s vision. Since I started working in theatre I have seen its potential for changing attitudes, scrutinising ideas, celebrating and examining cultural norms and helping us re-cognise what we think we know.
