John Babauta Email & Phone Number | Years ago, I would have never guessed I’d find myself so engaged in the banking profession; amazing how things always seem to work themselves out. I remember when asked by the hiring manager back in 2006 about my career intentions, I spoke of my love for the outdoors and music saying, “I see myself as either a National Park Service Ranger or going on tour as the lead singer in my rock and roll band”. It was at that moment the path of bringing together the things I was most passionate about and the world of banking began to play out, finding balance in profession, service, and adventure. Over the years I've found myself working in various positions in the financial industry. I’ve worked as a loan officer, insurance agent, and for large financial institutions. While finding success in these rolls, I had always felt a something might be missing from the equation…and indeed there was. Today I am able to serve the community in more ways than I ever imagined. Thanks to a financial institution that believes strongly in community outreach and service initiatives, I get the opportunity to connect the community to the banking industry in so many wonderful ways. Services like financial empowerment, food justice, affordable housing, and green space preservation to name a few. I happily serve on the Board of Directors for the Financial Empowerment Network; providing me with further opportunities in strengthening neighborhood connections. As I look ahead, I am excited about the opportunities yet uncovered and the work still to be done...using my experiences to bridge the world of banking and community service in exciting new ways.
