  John Anderson is a I am an engineer with over 35 years experience, most of which were with high reliability products for military and government aerospace applications and for implantable medical devices. I spent 5+ years working on product development and improvement projects for numerous space and aircraft propulsion systems. I then moved to the medical device field where I continue today. I was in the manufacturing group for 15 years and spent much of that time as the lead circuit board (HTCC and PWB) assembly engineer. I then built on that knowledge, developing new processes and high reliability passive electronic components, as well as defining standard methods for evaluating and optimizing component manufacturability. I then moved into the Sourcing Engineering group to lead component issue resolution and improvement projects with suppliers. In addition to acting as an SME for passive components and surface mount assembly for internal and external customers and suppliers, I lead CAPA (corrective action / preventive action) issue resolution teams, mentor Lean/Six Sigma Green and Black Belt projects, and guide/train suppliers in developing long-term systemic, value-added cost and quality improvements. I now am in the Global Operations and Supply Chain group working as a special project manager where I lead mission critical activities with current and new suppliers. I support multiple Medtronic business units and production sites, as well as suppliers as an expert in defect resolution/problem solving and capability/capacity improvement. I hold two patents and am a Lean/Six Sigma Black Belt. I have received multiple awards in manufacturing, quality, supply chain, and project/program management, up to and including division and corporate Star of Excellence awards.
