Joe Kozole is a • Extensive experience leading and managing all aspects of interdisciplinary scientific teams in drug discovery and biotechnology settings, from building teams and platforms to people development and portfolio strategy to representing science at key stakeholder engagements. • Solid foundation in drug discovery process, with experience leading platform portfolios and representing organizations on target validation and lead discovery programs, including critical path design and early discovery forum and lead discovery review planning. • Aptitude for connecting gaps in program critical paths with biological mass spectrometry technologies, with key example involving conception and delivery of sole lipidomic profiling platform available at GSK for end-to-end support of the drug discovery pipeline. • High fluency in multi-omics technologies (lipidomics, metabolomics, proteomics), including experimental design and data reduction for large scale experimentation to bring forward concrete conclusions about consequence of genetic and compound perturbation to on and off target biology. • Strong technical and strategic competency in high-throughput mass spectrometry (affinity selection, acoustic ejection, MALDI, reactive fragments) complemented by working knowledge in enzymology, biophysical characterization, and structural biology with key application space in experimental tractability assessment (eTA) and hit identification (hitID).
