Drawing upon various musical influences allows him to perform multi-layered textures and voices within his drumming. This approach has allowed Joe to become one of the most sought after drummers in a city known for its drumming tradition. Just like the cuisine of the Crescent City, Joe’s drumming is a combination of musical flavors brought from across the globe but developed here. Joe has had a long career in music education, teaching locally in New Orleans at such organizations as Music Box Village, Contemporary Arts Center, Young Audiences For Learning, and Educare. He has taught privately for 16 years. Joe is happily married to his Wife, Jessie Gelini who is a master Chef /Instructor at N.O.C.C.A. (New Orleans Center For Creative Arts) and they have a daughter named Karen Love Gelini.
