While at Harvard, Joe was the captain of the football team before being drafted into the National Football League in 1984, where he played linebacker and special teams with the Buffalo Bills. Joe is also a published author of a business management book called "Kiss Your BUT Good-bye" (HarpersBusiness 2013) that he and his brother Bob co-wrote. Joe resides in Cresskill, NJ with his wife Janet and has three daughters Christine, Colleen and Jackie.
