Main duties include: o Providing a comprehensive oral and written information service to all UK and overseas doctors who wish to work in the UK as a GP. o To process applications for CCT (certificate of completion of training) for over 3000 applicants per annum, liaising with trainees and others involved in the certification process (such as the deaneries and the GMC), and ensuring the requirements for certification are met within agreed deadlines. o To deal with day-to-day matters arising from the application process. o To assist with the training of new members of staff o To write and send out newsletters to Deaneries to keep them up to date with any changes to guidance and any changes within the application process. o To arrange and facilitate training days for deanery staff, including the generation of training materials as required. o To cover the work of the Senior GPSA Advisers when necessary.After graduating, I volunteered at the head offices of a number of charities including Bliss and Breakthrough Breast Cancer, working on their campaigns and supporter communications.During this 2 month internship at The Science Museum’s Dana Centre, I worked within a team who deliver innovative events based on issues in contemporary science, technology and medicine. My Duties included researching and developing scientific content for upcoming events (including finding possible speakers), updating the Dana Centre website, taking minutes at team meetings, preparing event materials prior to events, helping to set up events, acting as an usher and small group facilitator during events and carrying out general office administration tasks.
