Jo Lamprinopoulou Email & Phone Number | Jo specialises in both Psychodynamic and CBT Psychotherapy for children, young people and their families. Jo has been accredited by both BABCP and BACP as a practitioner and as a clinical supervisor by BABCP. Jo joined the Anna Freud Centre (part of UCL) in 2019 and she has been involved in a number of courses including most recently in the development of the CBT modality at the CYP IAPT courses. Since 2022 Jo has been involved at CYP IAPT’s high intensity interventions (CBT modality course) at KCL as a Practice Tutor. Jo has worked for twenty years in a variety of public settings including Children’s Services, the Voluntary Sector and more than a decade for the NHS in CAMHS services. Jo has been a Clinical Supervisor, a Locality Lead, a Project Developer, in Senior Management and a Trainer with long experience in early identification and prevention of emotional, behavioural and mental health difficulties. Jo employs a reflective 'scientist-practitioner' approach with particular emphasis on compassion-in-mind and evidence-based practice using the ethos and principles of Improving Access to Psychological Therapies (IAPT). As a supervisor Jo’s supervisory practice is eclectic, but predominantly informed by CBTS. Jo is currently on independent clinical and supervisory practice. Jo's clinical interests are in effective and efficient treatments of childhood anxiety disorders and how to work collaboratively with parents, transdiagnostic treatment for anxiety and low mood difficulties, sleep difficulties, body image/ weight management concerns, couples based interventions for infertility issues and the challenges of newly constructed adoptive and step-families. In one of her design studies Jo examined how self-defined cultural identity may impact on the young people's perception on the quality of care they had received from a mental health service. A recent article in the Guardian newspaper is mentioning Jo's therapeutic input with a young person suffering with anxiety.
