For the past 20 years I have been a secondary educator, designing and implementing curriculum and assessment for Middle and Senior School programs. I am an external marker for the ATAR assessment marking team, in addition to serving as a marker for QUT's undergraduate School of Justice assessments. My desire as an educator is to deliver 21st century pedagogy that facilitates rich engagement with learning, developing students who are able to critique, contribute to, and transform the world around them. Although possessing strengths in academic writing and assessment, my years in the secondary classroom in addition to performing arts training have enabled me to generate a skillset that includes public speaking. I have a special interest in Leadership, Gender, Adolescence and research, completing my Masters Degree in Education (majoring in Leadership and Management) in 2017, and graduating with Distinction. Due to consistently high results in postgraduate studies, I received the QUT Masters High Achievement Award. My passion for continued learning has led to me embarking on a PhD journey, with my resarch focusing on how rites of passage programs influence adolescent boys' transition to adulthood. I am a creative and critical thinker who approaches challenges with courage and innovation and adopts new skills and knowledge with enthusiasm and precision. I look forward to expanding my professional experience within education, research and leadership.
