Here we use innovative laser-technologies for micro/nanostructuring of surfaces, and micromachining. I enjoy the constant search for smarter and better solutions required in my job and the wide variety of topics we deal with on a daily basis. Previous to my current position I was a researcher at the Institut Catalan de Nanosciencia y Nanotechnologia in the Physics and Engineering of Nanodevices Group. Here I investigated the spin dynamics in Graphene nanodevices using innovative new techniques such as a home built atomic force microscopy to apply local strain and magnetic fields. Before joining the ICN2, I was a Post-doctoral researcher at the Weizmann Institute of Sciences where worked on the trailblazing new SQUID-on-Tip microscopy technique. A revolutionary new tool for nanoscale imaging of magnetic fields. I’m truly passionate about my work and love the constant challenges it brings me. Although all part of my job are challenging, I personally enjoy the hands-on development the most. However I also truly enjoy meeting other scientists to exchange ideas and create opportunities for collaboration. I have a PhD. and Master’s in experimental Physics from the KULeuven Belgium. I’m always interested in (re-)connecting with (former) colleagues or people that share my interests.
