Jim Kleyweg Email & Phone Number | Jim Kleyweg, CDBA, is the Director of Training for the San Diego Region of Canine Dimensions Home Dog Training. Jim has had a lifelong interest in dog behavior. He studied Animal Science at Western Iowa Tech in the 1970s, where part of the curriculum included working with veterinarians to assist them with animal behavior issues. Jim and his wife Lisa have since made San Diego their home. After a successful business career, Jim decided to follow his dream of working with dogs full-time. The opportunity to use his experience and talents to help dogs and their owners build stronger lifelong relationships was key in his decision to become a professional dog trainer and join the Canine Dimensions team. The combination of Jim’s love of animals and Canine Dimension’s training philosophies have been a perfect match. Both complement each other to provide a fun and enjoyable experience that both dogs and their owners rave about. Jim has always had a passion for dogs, especially those in need of rescue. He believes that there is no better feeling than giving a dog a chance at a new life, and has enjoyed working with shelters and rescues in order to increase the chance of placing the dogs into new forever homes. He gets great satisfaction working with adoptive pet parents to help their new dogs become a part of the family. Jim was trained and mentored by Canine Dimensions founder and nationally recognized dog behavior expert Phil Guida. Jim is a Certified Dog Behavior Advisor, a member of the Association of Pet Dog Trainers and the International Association of Canine Professionals, and is certified by the American Kennel Club as a Canine Good Citizen evaluator. His West Highland White Terrier “Taz” was in the filming for the Cesar’s Gourmet Dog Food commercial in 2003. Specialties: Canine Dimensions In-Home Dog Training is recommended by veterinarians, animal shelters, breeders and even by other dog trainers. We use humane, natural, dog training methods - no shock collars, no clickers.
