Jillian Mcnally Email & Phone Number | I am a recent college graduate; currently, I am looking for work experience that can prepare me for my graduate education and can inform the future therapist within me. I am working to push myself outside of my comfort zone to learn as many skills as I possibly can before pursuing a career in social counseling. As a student at the University of Redlands, I was fortunate to be able to study psychology as my major while also gaining knowledge and experience from classes in other departments such as religious studies and philosophy. By reaching out and blending the knowledge I gained from these different sectors, I gained a rich, cohesive education. This is how I was introduced to meditation, which has become one of my best tools in learning about myself and my passions. During my last semester, a close friend and classmate of mine were able to design a class, under supervision, that incorporated interpersonal psychology and mindfulness meditation techniques. Outside of the classroom my experience at the UofR was equally influential. Early into my first year I quickly became introduced to a very unique organization called Listening & Understanding Sexuality Together, playfully referred to as LUST among members. As a person who has seen friends and family members struggle with adapting their sexuality to their whole identity, and with gaining acceptance from loved ones, I was drawn to this community of open, understanding and compassionate people who promoted a safe space for learning and expression of this kind. My next three years as a UofR student were spent as a leader of this group. Through this organization I found my passion to incorporate sexual counseling as a component of the therapy I am working to one day be licensed to give.
