  Jessica Rodriguez is a Since her birth, Ms. Jessica Rodríguez she has held great pride in her culture, as well as her natural ability to lead. At the age of 8, Jessica was inducted as an Aspirante. Throughout elementary and high school, Jessica held several ASPIRA Club Federation titles, even holding the position of President for two years. At that time, Jessica also became the Student Representative for the ASPIRA of IL Board of Directors and the Student Representative of Illinois in the ASPIRA National Board of Directors. During her time at the National Board of Directors, Jessica was a part of the Student Affairs Committee and help create the ASPIRA Encuentro, a National Student Conference that was held in Puerto Rico in the Summer of 2008. Jessica earned a Bachelors of Science in Psychology from Loyola University in 2010. Jessica graduated from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology with a Masters degree in Forensic Psychology in July of 2016. Apart from her involvement in ASPIRA, Jessica has done great cultural work both locally and internationally in the area of Puerto Rican cultural preservation. In 2000, Jessica became a founding member of AfriCaribe and has been an instructor there since 2002. In 2009, Jessica received a special recognition award, on behalf of the Ruiz Belvis Cultural Center naming her one of the Bomba community’s best female dancers in the world. In 2010, Jessica became a founder and director of Las BomPleneras, an all female ensemble that dedicates itself to the conservation of the musical genres of Bomba and Plena.
