He received the M.Sc. degree (Cum Laude) in Mechanical Engineering from Technische Universiteit Eindhoven (TU/e) in September 2006. During his internal traineeship, which he carried out at TU/e, he investigated if and how single-input single-output control techniques could be applied to multiple-input multiple-output systems: controlling the twin drive by decoupling. For his external traineeship, he went to NXP, formerly known as Philips Semiconductors, the Netherlands. The subject of the research was applying iterative learning control to a die-bonder called ADAT. In March 2003 he started his M. Sc. project at the TU/e. The project he worked on was called Boderc ("Beyond the Ordinary: Design of Embedded Real-time Control") and is under the management and responsibility of the Embedded Systems Institute (ESI). He investigated sheet position control inside a cut sheet printer paper path. During his M.Sc. project he was also involved in teaching the PATO course Advanced Motion Control. From September 2006 to September 2011, he was a Ph.D. student in the Control Systems Technology group at the department of Mechanical Engineering of Eindhoven University of Technology. The project is called "Fast Focus on Structures". The primaire goals of this project are: 1) the development of a flexible, low-cost, small-scale measurement system, 2) the development of appropriate fast real-time data handling in hardware and software and 3) the development of appropriate optimal control algoritmes. Besides this project, he also participated the DISC (Dutch Institute of Systems and Control) course program, and he was a member of the Tech United RoboCup team from 2006 until 2011. Currently he is employed in the field of systems and control and mechatronics.
