Jenny Field Email & Phone Number | After completing her degree at the University of Greenwich, Jenny spent 15 years working as a primary school teacher. During this time she became a senior leader and Maths co-ordinator. One of the first Leading Maths teachers in the country, providing demonstration lessons for hundreds of teachers over the course of five years, she also worked alongside the numeracy consultant for Bexley. Ofsted graded her teaching as 'outstanding'. In 2002 Jenny became a senior lecturer at the University of Greenwich and 2 years later was promoted to Curriculum Lead for Primary Maths. In 2008 Jenny played a leadership role in forming the South East England Consortium providing the DfE National Maths Specialist Teacher Programme. She led 5 local authorities and trained MaST teachers in 70 schools. In 2012 Jenny was promoted to Principal Lecturer, and in 2013 was part of a successful bid to lead a new government initiative, the SSPIP programme. In 2013 she became an Accredited Lead Provider with the NCETM and a partner in a government funded National Maths Hub. In 2016 she was awarded a prestigious National Teaching Fellowship. More recently she has become involved in pan faculty research into developing resilience, including through mindfulness, and has undertaken training with Oxford. In 2018 Jenny was promoted to Professor of Mathematics Education. Recent major projects include her National and International pedagogical research on Multiplicative Reasoning, she is currently part of an Expert Advisory Panel for the government agency, the NCETM, contributing to the Mastering Number at KS2 Programme. She is also a member of the All Party Parliamentary Group for the Teaching Profession. All her Publications and Conference Proceedings can be found in the 'Publication' section below
