Jenna Sethi Email & Phone Number | I have a master’s degree in Youth Development Leadership from the University of MN and am currently a Ph.D. student in the Family Youth & Community program in the College of Education and Human Development at the University of MN. I am presently working towards completion of my dissertation. My study looks at urban youth who create media to address issues of violence in their communities. I have taught in formal and informal settings as a youth worker and as a community faculty member in the Youth Studies program at the University of Minnesota. I am currently teaching YOST 1001 Seeing Youth, Thinking Youth: Media, Popular Media, and Scholarship and YOST 4404/5401 Young People’s Spirituality and Youthwork. The courses I teach are built on a critical pedagogy philosophy of engaging students through dialogue. In both my youthwork and the classroom I strive to create a positive, open and engaging space that allows young people to bring their own experience to and have a voice.
