The downsides to practicing medicine are things like high production quotas per day which leads to time away from family, dealing with patients who just want a “pill” and not involved in their care, battling with insurances over coverage, and rarely being able to reduce or eliminate medications. Coaching for Optavia has changed all that. The biggest thrill is that weekly call of how my client’s life has changed for the better. Something I rarely had in medicine. We work with only the clients who want to be involved in their health journey, so it is a much more synergistic relationship. My wife and I have flexible schedule, so we have time freedom to focus my life around what matters most to us. We work remotely which gives us the freedom to travel or move to anyplace we wish to live. We do not sell anything so there are no worries about inventory or handling money.
