Jeff Goldberg Email & Phone Number | Radio has been my life since I started listening to 77WABC as a boy growing up in NYC. In 2014, I celebrated 30 years on the radio. I was lucky enough to spend the first 21 years on radio and television in Washington, DC. I broke in at WINX, where so many of the best jocks in DC started. Then it was onto WJFK for a couple of years, working for Cerphe. In 1993, I got the call I had been waiting for. A chance to work at an Oldies station and play the 60s and 70s music that I loved so much. We put Oldies 100 WBIG on the air in June of 93 and we were #1, 12+ in DC a year or so later. I went on to do the 6-10 pm slot for over 11 years and win 9 AIR awards along the way. On "Black Monday", almost the entire, original air staff got laid off and it was up the road to Baltimore to work at another great Oldies station, WQSR. I also did a lot of on air work for PBS TV at WETA in DC and MPT in Md., hosting their quarterly pledge drives and any music event they were airing. Also did a number of guest shots on FOX 5 Morning News including their "Idol Chatter" segments the morning after American Idol. In 2005, it was time to sign another new Oldies station on the air for Cumulus Broadcasting, Oldies 106.9 WFVL in NC. I hosted the morning show. In 2012, I moved across the hall to News/Talk 640 WFNC to anchor the morning show, Good Morning Fayetteville with Goldy & Jim. If done right, there is still nothing better than live, local radio. It's life happening right before your very ears and 94% of Americans still listen every week.
