I have interests in thoracic oncology, minimally invasive thoracic surgery, thoracic and abdominal aneurysms and their management including endovascular procedures, peripheral vascular interventions and traditional vascular surgeries. Adventist Medical Center has a state of the art Hybrid angio suite in the OR. This suite is used heavily. Interventional/endovascular and hybrid percutaneous/open vascular procedures can be done in this suite. From a leadership standpoint I have been Surgery Department, Chair, several times and remain a member; Patient Safety Committee, Chair; Adverse Outcome/Sentinel Event, Chair; member of Medical Quality Committee, member of AHMG Quality Committee, and member of Medical Executive Committee. I orchestrated a multi-specialty Thoracic Conference where the intent is a working meeting so patients with thoracic problems get the best team approach and management. I give presentations/lectures pertaining to my specialties both at Adventist Medical Center as well as at other medical centers in Portland to medical staff for CME and to nurses for educational purposes. I frequently give lectures to college students planning on going into medicine.
