I've been on disability for over 3 years, and I'm never bored. While I can still walk, I am traveling as much as possible. I also travel for Cure VCP Disease, as we exhibit at medical conferences to educate doctors. So many misdiagnose those of us with the VCP gene mutation. It took me over six years, seeing 7 neurologists at 4 academic institutions and finally a trip to the Mayo Clinic to finally get the correct diagnosis. I am still living my life as I have before, but I've had to adapt a little. I use a scooter to travel, I go to Physical Therapy 3-6 hours/week, and I appreciate the people in my life who bring me joy and make me a better person.
