In 2000 Javier secured a position as Sales and Development Manager for Spain and Portugal for DE LAGE LANDEN, the Rabobank Group leasing and trade finance company. Followed by a year as Business Development and International Sales Manager at SIXT AG. Javier joined the MAPFRE GROUP in November 2002 at MAPFRE CAUCION Y CREDITO, as a Technical Underwriter for Credit and Bonds. After 9 years in that position, he joined MAPFRE RE in 2011 as Spain, Portugal and Israel Market Client Manager supporting clients in those areas & developing new business opportunities very successfully. In 2014 Javier was promoted to the role of Global Head of Credit and Bond Department also in MAPFRE RE. In March 2016 he was appointed CEO of MAPFRE RE DO BRASIL until January 2021 when he was designated as APAC Chief Regional Officer of MAPFRE RE.
