My career culminated with me holding the rank of major as my agency's Assistant Chief of Police/Patrol Division commander. My duties were widely varied and included functioning as the Chief of Police in his absence, overseeing the Patrol Division and it's operations, as well as, the operations of the department overall. Although retired from full time service, I am an adjunct instructor in the Criminal Justice program at Ogeechee Technical College. I have excellent leadership and interpersonal communications skills. I am a goal/mission oriented leader who can lead teams to goal accomplishment. My experience in the U.S. Army laid the foundation for my focus and leadership skills and I continue to develop them on a daily basis. In the Army, I earned by Airborne badge, Pathfinder badge and Air Assault badge. I was deployed to Operation Desert Shield/Storm, hurricane relief operations and several counter-drug operations where I worked alongside foreign military and police. My education includes a Master's in Public Safety Administration as well as over 4,000 hours of varied law enforcement training. Some highlights are: Chief Executive Training Course, Georgia International Law Enforcement Exchange, less lethal impact and chemical munitions instructor, background investigations, Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT), TASER instructor, narcotics investigations and more. Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST) certifications include: Management Certification Supervisory Certification Advanced Certification Intermediate Certification Senior, Firearms & Speed Detection Device Instructor Field Training Officer I am planning on enjoying a slower place and spending more time with my family. I am always available to assist others if needed.
