But problem solving is not all, it has to lead to something. And this something, is making a difference. Sometimes maybe even very small, but still. In the end, making something better is what is important to me. In my academia career I was moving from the laboratory bench to the data analysis, which ended in only computer-based work. I was dealing with continuously increasing amounts of data of different sorts. I managed these big genetic data sets using variety of algorithms and software. But, applying a proper tool to a given task is not enough, what is equally important is using one’s knowledge to interpret the results. Nevertheless, after few years in academia I decided to change a path and start something new, but not completely different. This lead me to the clinical trials. I found myself in the environment where I could instantly feel that I could make a difference. And where I could use all my skills. However, my interests do not end with the genetics and bioinformatics for which I hold a PhD degree. There is also Philosophy. Finishing these studies with MSc, gave tools for better asking question, finding answers and conquering your problems. Also, they allow me to get clearer insight into myself.
