After a short trial I was taken on full time and developed my IT skills. Eventually I was trusted to run the administration side of things on one site. After three years I was headhunted to carry out a similar role with Heron Frozen Foods in their head office. I was an assistant stock controller and this involved liaising with the buying director to ensure that stores were able to receive the correct orders. Towards the end of my time there I moved to a more IT focussed role assisting the IT Director. After another three years in that role an opening for an IT Trainer came up at Gosschalks. It was a slightly different role but it was one that I grasped and I was responsible for ongoing training for current staff as well as comprehensive IT training for all new starters including both support staff, trainee solicitors and fee-earners. I spent over five years in this role until I took a position as a trainer for AIM/Iris working on delivering on-site training and training manual creation for their Evolution PMS product. I left this role after 18 months to return to Gosschalks as I had a young family and the nature of the role meant I spent too long away from home. My role at Gosschalks has evolved over the years. I have continued with training for all staff members and I have also taken a more active role in day-to-day first line support for the firm's 100+ users. I was heavily involved in our Peppermint implementation project which was a major change for the firm.
