I spent 12 years working with the Hedge Fund team with a focus on credit and diversifying strategies such as global macro managers. I was appointed Head of Fixed Income in 2017 but remained active in hedge funds as well. I was particularly excited to be given the mandate to implement Private Credit strategies for our clients. While Commonfund had managed several Distressed Debt vehicles in the past, our new vehicle was focused on performing private credit, including Middle Market Direct Lending as well as Real Estate and other Asset Backed lending strategies. Private Credit generally is shorter term and more focused on income generation than Private Equity and hence can be a useful diversifying strategy within an institution's private investment portfolio. I think that my knowledge and experience could be valuable to institutions such as pension and endowment funds and the investment managers that serve them. Ideally I would like a part-time or consulting position as I approach retirement.
