The goal is to build a professional network of people and resources to help improve current veterans assistance programs and services by promoting both government and private organizations that will work together to maximize the efforts and create true veterans friendly communities. Currently I serve as the State Chairman for the WV Veterans Coalition, we have an active community of over a thousand veterans and supporters with contacts in all 55 counties within West Virginia as well as contacts we have developed in bordering states (See Facebook Page West Virginia Veterans Coalition). The goal is to create a network that is easily accessible to all veterans and their families who are in need of services or assistance, to provide a hand up and not a hand out. Current state legislation is needed in all states to provide a lifeline that will address job creation, PTSD/TBI, the ever growing aging veterans population and a level of quality of life improvement programs that encourage physical, mental and spiritual fitness. The Federal Government and State Governments can not do this without the assistance and support of citizens and private non profit and for profit corporations who will work together to find a solution that gets our veterans a population that represents less than 10% of Americans who serve this Nation back to work, with resources and programs that truly encourage a level of interaction and cooperative spirit, work and a goal.
