My responsibilities included boiler selection, compressed air plant and refrigeration plant sizing, and all process equipment selection and procurement, as well as system integration and hygienic design. Brewhouse sizing & spec incl endosperm mashing, husk transform, hopjack selection, decoction mash kettle and pdx wort boiler engine, unitank/BBt sizing & spec, stainless steel route network from Unitanks to filter/centrifuge cellar and route 2 from there to BBt; selection of all packaging and lab hardware. Novel approaches, such as not using diatomaceous earth but instead a refurbished Westfalia centrifuge followed by cellulose pad filtration, the use of single stainless steel glycol reservoir with constant chiller recirc via side stream, and carefully-selected refurb. used hardware made for technical exploration space & novel beers. Experienced on the engineering design/spec side of spirits distillation, and in soft drinks, cider, and (of all things) cannabis processing into extracts.
